How We Stay Safe at Camp Santa Maria
At Camp Santa Maria, your child’s safety is our top priority. We create a supportive and secure environment where campers can enjoy their adventures with peace of mind. Here’s how we ensure everyone stays safe and sound:
Trained Staff
All of our camp counselors are carefully selected for their experience, enthusiasm, and high commitment to camper safety. Our staff are trained in CPR, first aid, and emergency response, and we always have qualified medical personnel on-site. With a low camper-to-counselor ratio, we ensure every child gets the attention they need.
Health & Medical Care
We’re prepared for any situation. Our camp medical team is available 24/7 to handle any injuries or illnesses. We keep detailed health records for each camper, including any allergies, medications, or special needs, and we’re in close communication with parents about any health-related concerns.
Safe Adventure Activities
All of our outdoor programs, from hiking and rock climbing to canoeing and swimming, are designed with safety in mind. Activities are led by trained instructors and always include proper safety gear, from helmets to life vests. We follow strict guidelines for each activity to ensure campers stay safe while having fun.
Emergency Preparedness
While we hope for nothing but smooth sailing, we are always ready for emergencies. Our staff are trained in emergency protocols, and we have a comprehensive plan in place to manage any situations that may arise. We maintain clear communication with parents if anything urgent occurs.
Communication
We believe in keeping parents in the loop. Throughout the camp session, we’ll share updates and photos so you can see your child’s journey. If you need to reach us for any reason, we’re always available to assist.
